Standard Measure up
The information provided in a standard measure up is very thorough, and is included in a set of digital measured drawings including floor plan/s, roof plan and exterior elevations (typically 4).
Information such as finished floor levels, ceiling heights, ceiling coves, floor finishes, fittings, all openings, wall thicknesses, any structural (visible) beam, roof pitches, cladding, chimneys, fireplaces, etc are all included in the drawings.
I can also provide cross-sections if required. (Please note that these can only show what is visible and accessible, i.e. things such as insulation may not be shown if no access to wall cavities is available).
Basically I can provide as little or as much as is required. The “measure ups” can be partial (as small as just a room or a deck, etc) or more often as large as the entire dwelling. The information recorded on the drawings can also be as thorough or as minimal as the architect requires.
I produce 2D drawings using AutoCAD LT software and files are saved in different formats compatible with all computer aided design software such as Archicad, Vector works and AutoCAD.
Typically saved as .dwg and .dxf files, and also as .pdf files for printing.
The measured drawings and photos are provided digitally.
Site Plans
Sometimes architects require a site plan to work out height to boundaries development controls. Distances to existing fences and approximate ground levels at boundaries can also be provided, as well as position of dwelling, trees and other items on the site, to be used at the design stage, although I do recommend that a registered survey plan be used if height to boundary is critical, as I am not a surveyor.
Digital drawings from old paper plans
Sometimes you may already have a dimensioned and accurate old set of paper plans, which you just need, converted into digital format. I can do this by reproducing the information supplied on the old paper plans, assuming they are dimensioned and legible. Scaling off old plans can be done if required, but of course accuracy cannot be guaranteed in this case.
